Live Instruction.
Practical application.
Centered around knowing and applying the APSCA Code and Standards of Professional Conduct.
Auditors make decisions in real time, often with incomplete information, competing pressures, and practical challenges.
Ethics in Practice is a highly interactive 120-minute course that gives participants an opportunity to apply the APSCA Code and Standards of Professional Conduct to realistic social compliance audit situations.
Instead of listening to a two-hour review of Code provisions, participants make decisions as scenarios unfold, explain their reasoning, receive additional facts, and reconsider their decisions before the applicable Code requirements are discussed.
Identify ethical concerns before, during, and after an audit.
Apply Code requirements to gifts, meals, transportation, relationships, and commercial pressure.
Recognize staffing, competency, and supervision concerns.
Handle confidential and sensitive worker information appropriately.
Recognize concerns that require escalation or reporting to APSCA.
Respond appropriately when required work is incomplete or reporting deadlines create pressure.

Can an auditor accept transportation from a factory?

What happens when refreshments become a meal, and then a gift?

When does a relationship, prior work, or commercial pressure threaten independence?

Can the audit proceed when the available team may not have the required competency?

What happens when the client deadline arrives before the required audit work is complete?

How much information can you disclose without exposing a worker?

Two hours of facilitator-led instruction.
